In the city of Ninh Bình in Tonkin, now Viet Nam, the holy martyrs Paulo Khoan Khan Pham, priest, John Baptist Đinh Văn Thành and Peter Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, catechists, who, thrown into prison for three years and tortured to make them deny the Christian faith, at last found martyrdom by beheading under the emperor Minh Mạng.
