Who they were
Brother Anastasio Pedro (Pedro Bruch Cortecáns) was born in Girona on 30 June 1869 and made his perpetual profession as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1897. He worked in education in Barcelona and directed colleges in several Spanish cities. While directing the college of San Rafael in Madrid he was found, arrested and shot at Fuencarral on 13 September 1936.
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

Why that counted as sanctity
One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.
