Who they were
Pedro de Arbués was born in 1441 or 1442 of a noble family and probably studied philosophy at Huesca. On returning to Spain he became a canon regular of St Augustine.
In the kingdom of Aragon he worked against superstition and heresy, and in 1485 he was struck down by men he had investigated, before the altar of the cathedral.
