Who they were
Pedro Legaria was orphaned young, ordained in 1902 and served as parish administrator at Murchante; in 1916 he founded the Esclavas de Cristo Rey, a congregation devoted to promoting the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius, and he later took vows as a Jesuit.

Why that counted as sanctity
The nihil obstat is dated 15 October 1981 and the cognitional process was held in Pamplona-Tudela in the 1980s; the diocesan website of Navarre records that John Paul II declared him Venerable on 20 December 2001.
