Who they were
Pedro Poveda Castroverde was born at Linares, Jaén, on 3 December 1874, was drawn to the priesthood as a child and was ordained for the diocese of Guadix in 1897. As a canon of Covadonga he cared for pilgrims and began writing on education and on faith and science.
