At Shimabara in Japan, the blessed martyrs Michael Carvalho, of the Society of Jesus, Peter Vázquez of the Order of Preachers, Louis Sotelo and Louis Sasanda, priests, and Louis Baba, religious of the Order of Friars Minor, burned alive for their faith in Christ.
