Who they were
At Córdoba in Andalusia in Spain, Saint Perfectus, priest and martyr, who, for having spoken out against Muslim doctrine and firmly professed the Christian faith, was shut in prison by the Moors and then pierced with the sword.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 18 April as a priest of Córdoba martyred by the sword for professing the Christian faith.
