Who they were
Peter Reddy, known as Paradesi Peter, was born to a family of Lutheran converts in the Madurai region, taught at St Francis Xavier College in Palayamkottai, joined the Third Order of St Francis in 1944 and then gave everything away to live for fourteen years as a wandering beggar, writing nine books and more than fifty Tamil hymns.

The nihil obstat is dated 9 October 2008 and the diocese of Palayamkottai began his cause; the Secular Franciscan Order lists him as a Servant of God.
