Who they were
At Palencia in Castile in Spain, death of Saint Peter, bishop of Osma, who, first a monk and then archdeacon of the Church of Toledo, was finally raised to the see of Osma, recently freed from the rule of the Moors, which he rebuilt with lively pastoral zeal.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 August as the bishop who rebuilt the see of Osma after its liberation from the Moors.
