Who they were
Peter Wright, a solicitor's clerk and briefly a soldier, entered the Jesuits in 1629 and became chaplain to an English regiment in Spanish service.
He came to England in 1644 and later served as chaplain to the Marquess of Winchester in London, where he was arrested on Candlemas 1651. Condemned for being a priest, he was executed at Tyburn on Whit Monday, 19 May 1651, before over twenty thousand people.
