Pierre Dumoulin-Borie
French Roman Catholic missionary priest (1808–1838)

Who they were
Pierre Borie, born in the Diocese of Tulle in 1808, trained at the Seminary of the Foreign Missions and was ordained young by dispensation. He reached Tonkin in 1832, and soon had to hide through years of persecution, visiting even the remotest Christian communities.
Captured in 1838, he learned in prison that he had been named Vicar Apostolic. He was beheaded with two Vietnamese priests on 24 November 1838.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle. The Catholic Encyclopedia records that his cause had been introduced at Rome.
