Who they were
Pierre-François Jamet was born at Fresnes, Normandy, on 12 September 1762 and ordained on 22 September 1787. In 1790 he became chaplain to the Daughters of the Good Saviour at Caen.
During the Revolution he refused the oath, was arrested and threatened with death. Freed, he said Mass in secret and sustained the scattered sisters and the persecuted faithful. From 1819 he was their superior.
