Who they were
Pierre Vigne was born at Privas on 20 August 1670, in a town still scarred by the wars of religion, the youngest of three children of a cloth merchant. He was ordained on 18 September 1694 and sent as curate to Saint-Agrève.
Ever more passionate for the salvation of souls, above all of poor country people, 'God's walker' founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.
