Rachelina Ambrosini
Italian teenager who is venerated by the Roman Catholic Church (1925–1941)
Who they were
Rachelina Ambrosini was born on 2 July 1925 at Passo di Venticano, near Avellino, Italy, and learned a deep love of the Virgin Mary and the Rosary from her mother. A gifted pupil, she studied at Bari from 1936 and then in Rome, where she lodged with the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
She was known for her kindness to poorer companions and her readiness to serve. On Ash Wednesday, 26 February 1941, she was taken to hospital with sudden meningitis, received the sacraments, and died in Rome on 10 March 1941 in her sixteenth year.
