Who they were
In the village of Agullent in the territory of Valencia in Spain, Blessed Rafael Alonso Gutiérrez, martyr, who, a father of a family, shed his blood for Christ during the persecution against the faith. Together with him is also commemorated the blessed martyr Carlos Díaz Gandía, who on this day in the same territory, fighting for the faith, attained eternal life.
