Who they were
Ragheed Ganni was an Iraqi priest of the Chaldean Catholic Church. He did postgraduate studies at the Irish College in Rome and in June 2003 was appointed parish priest in Mosul.
On 3 June 2007, the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, after celebrating the Sunday Eucharist, he was murdered in Mosul together with three subdeacons. In 2018 it was announced that the cause of Father Ragheed and his companions had been opened at the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and he is now called Servant of God.
