Ramona María Perramón Vila
Dominican sister of the Annunciation, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Ramona María Perramón Vila was born at Vic on 28 August 1898 and in 1920 was received in her native city among the Sisters of Saint Dominic of the Annunciation; she served with distinction at the Barcelona college of Saint Catherine and bore a grave kidney disease patiently and humbly.
Wounded by the militia on 27 July 1936, she died shortly afterwards, having first forgiven her killers and prayed that they would be brought back to the right road. She was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, among Antero Mateo García and his eleven companions of the Second and Third Orders of Saint Dominic.
