Who they were
Raymond Louveaux was a layman born at Aubervilliers on 12 April 1913 and baptised on 15 June; he held positions of responsibility among the Scouts of Saint-Mandé and on 23 November 1936 married Denise Ménardeau, who bore him a daughter. Mobilised in 1939, he was wounded and captured the next year and taken to Bonn, where he went on leading the Scouts in Stalag VI G; arrested on 22 August 1944, he died on 12 April 1945, aged 32, during the evacuation of Buchenwald. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
