Who they were

At Paris in France, the passion of Blessed André Abel Alricy, priest, and seventy-one companions, martyrs, for the most part priests, who, after a first massacre carried out the previous day, were shut up in the Seminary of Saint-Firmin as in a prison and slaughtered out of hatred of the Church. Among those named is Blessed René-Joseph Urvoy, priest.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 3 September among the martyrs, mostly priests, slaughtered in the Seminary of Saint-Firmin in Paris out of hatred of the Church.
