Riccardo Borello
Who they were
Riccardo Borello was born at Mango, near Alba in Piedmont, Italy, on 8 March 1916. At twenty, on 8 July 1936, he entered the Society of Saint Paul as an aspiring Disciple of the Divine Master, taking the religious name Andrea Maria, and worked alongside the Pauline priests in spreading the Gospel through the means of social communication.
In March 1948 he offered his life so that all those called to religious life would stay faithful to their vocation. Stricken with tuberculosis, he died in Alba on 4 September 1948, aged thirty-two. He was declared Venerable on 3 March 1990.
