Robert Beauvais

Who they were

Robert Beauvais was a layman born in Paris on 5 October 1922 and baptised at Saint-Merri a month later; he studied with the Brothers of the Christian Schools and joined the Scouts in October 1936. Called up by the compulsory labour service on 5 March 1943, he left for Berlin and joined the clandestine Scouts and the Young Christian Workers there; arrested in August, he died at Neuengamme on 10 January 1945, aged 22. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
