Who they were
Margaret Flesch was born at Schönstatt, near Koblenz, on 24 February 1826, the eldest of seven children of a poor oil-seed miller. After her mother's death in 1832 the family moved to Niederbreitbach.
As Mother Rosa she founded the Franciscan Sisters of St Mary of the Angels of Waldbreitbach.
