Rosa Molas i Vallve

Who they were
Rosa Molas was born at Reus, Spain, on 24 March 1815 to a family of craftsmen, and baptised the next day.
She turned a society of devout women into the Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation to serve those in need: the most abandoned old people and children were 'the apple of her eye'. On 14 March 1857 she placed her community under the Church authority of Tortosa, and when that city unjustly removed her from its public school, she still helped it organise a lazaretto, 'ready to sacrifice everything for our poor brothers'.
