Who they were
Rose-Chrétien de la Neuville, in religion Sister Julia Louisa of Jesus, was a widow who became a choir nun of the Carmel of Compiègne. She was born in 1741 and probably professed in 1777.
She was guillotined in Paris on 17 July 1794 with the other Carmelites of Compiègne, who sang and renewed their vows before they died. They were beatified on 27 May 1906.
The miracles
The Catholic Encyclopedia lists four cures proved in the beatification process of the Compiègne martyrs as a group, among them that of a Carmelite lay sister of New Orleans who was dying of cancer in June 1897.
Why that counted as sanctity
A widow turned Carmelite, one of the martyrs of Compiègne guillotined in 1794.
