Who they were
In the village of Fannjiazhuang near Wujiao in the province of Hebei in China, Saint Rose Fan Hui, virgin and martyr, who in the persecution unleashed by the followers of the Boxer sect, covered in wounds, was thrown still alive into the river.

The Roman Martyrology does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 16 August as a virgin martyr of the Boxer persecution in Hebei.
