Who they were
Rufinus of Assisi is commemorated in the Roman Martyrology on 30 July. According to legend he was bishop of Assisi and a martyr, though the Catholic Encyclopedia says the Acts of his martyrdom are purely legendary. He is probably the same as the bishop of the Marsi commemorated on 11 August.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
