Saint Nazarius

Who they were

Nazarius was the fourteenth Abbot of Lérins, probably in the time of Clothaire II. He attacked the last traces of paganism on the southern coast of France.

He overthrew a sanctuary of Venus near Cannes and founded a convent for women in its place. His name is in the calendar of saints of the French Church.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
