Who they were
Pammachius, a Roman senator and schoolfellow of St Jerome, married Paulina, daughter of St Paula, in 385. After her death in 397 he took the religious habit and gave himself to works of charity.
He urged the Donatists of Numidia to return to unity, and with St Fabiola founded a hospice for pilgrims. Many of Jerome's commentaries are dedicated to him. He died about 409.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
