Who they were
Perpetuus, of a family of saints, was Bishop of Tours for thirty years from about 460. Under him the Church in Touraine grew and was strengthened.
He watched carefully over his clergy, built monasteries and churches, and replaced the little chapel over St Martin's tomb with a fine basilica in 470. He died about 490 or 491.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
