Who they were
Silvia, mother of Pope St Gregory the Great, was known for her great piety and gave her sons an excellent education.
After her husband's death she devoted herself wholly to religion near the gate of St Paul in Rome. She died about 592.
The miracles
Pope Clement VIII placed her name in the Roman Martyrology; there was never a formal cause.
