Who they were

Born in Zamora and ordained in 1944, he served the Augustinian order in Spain and Rome (where he worked in the Vatican under Paul VI) before going to Argentina in 1972 to work in the Cafayate prelature and in Santa María (Catamarca) and Salta.

The miracles

No miracle has been approved. The cause is at its first stage.

Why that counted as sanctity

He was declared a Servant of God in February 2021 and the Archdiocese of Salta formally opened his beatification process in June 2023 with a Mass in Salta cathedral presided over by Archbishop Mario Cargnello.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
