Who they were
Sebastián Sáinz López was born at Villasuso on 20 January 1915 and made his first temporary vows in 1933. Given to prayer, he was pursuing the study of Scholastic theology when he was killed in 1936; Pope Francis beatified him on 18 June 2022.

He was put to death in 1936 in the persecution in Spain, and the Church recognised his death as martyrdom.
