Who they were
Secondo Pollo was born at Caresanablot, near Vercelli, on 2 January 1908. A priest of Vercelli, he taught and guided seminarians, preached and heard confessions, and worked with the young of Catholic Action.
He followed them into the Second World War as chaplain to the Alpini. He was gravely wounded while helping a dying soldier and soon afterwards died.
