Seraphina Sforza

Who they were
Seraphina of Montefeltro, raised in Rome by her uncle Pope Martin V, married Alexander Sforza, Lord of Pesaro, in 1448. When he turned to a dissolute life she tried in vain to reform him; he ill-treated her, even attempted her life, and forced her into the Poor Clare convent at Pesaro.
There she prayed without ceasing for his conversion, which was granted. She became abbess in 1475 and died on 8 September 1478; her body was later found incorrupt.
