Who they were
Simon Fidati of Cascia joined the Augustinian Hermits young and was a model of monastic virtue and learning. His preaching at Perugia, Bologna, Siena and Florence bore much fruit.
He was especially successful among fallen women, founding a house of penance for them and a convent in Florence. He died at Florence on 2 February 1348.
