Simón Reynés Solivellas
Member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Simón Reynés Solivellas belonged to the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary; the decree on martyrdom, drawn up for him and five companions of his congregation together with the Franciscan Sisters Daughters of Mercy and the laywoman Prudencia Canyelles i Ginesta, says that faith in Jesus Christ lit up his life and his death and that he and his companions ended their earthly pilgrimage longing to share the blessedness of the risen Lord face to face.
He was beatified by Benedict XVI among the martyrs of Spain raised to the altars in October 2007.
