Who they were
At Autun in Lugdunensis Gaul, now in France, Saint Simplicius, who, of a noble and devout family, lived in complete chastity in the company of his most virtuous wife and was afterwards elected to the episcopate.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 24 June as a nobleman of Autun who lived in chastity with his wife and was later elected bishop.
