Solomon of Córdoba

Who they were

At Córdoba in Andalusia in Spain, the passion of Saints Roderick, priest, and Solomon, martyrs: the first, having refused to believe that Muhammad was a true prophet sent by the Almighty, was thrown into prison, where he met Solomon, who had previously for some time adhered to the Muslim religion, and together they gloriously completed their trial by beheading.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 13 March as a martyr at Córdoba who, having once adhered to Islam for a time, was beheaded together with the priest Roderick.
