Who they were
Teresa Jornet e Ibars was born at Aytona, near Lleida, on 9 January 1843. At nineteen she became a teacher at Argensola in the schools founded by her great-uncle, Blessed Francisco Palau.
On 27 January 1873 the small group she led took the habit: the founding of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly. She died of tuberculosis at Liria, near Valencia, on 26 August 1897.
The miracles
She was canonised by Paul VI. The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
