Who they were
At Antioch in Syria, today in Turkey, Saint Stephen, bishop and martyr, who suffered much from the heretics who opposed the Council of Chalcedon and, in the time of the emperor Zeno, died thrown into the river Orontes.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 April as a bishop of Antioch who suffered from the opponents of the Council of Chalcedon and died thrown into the river Orontes.
