Who they were
Terence O'Brien of Limerick became a Dominican, studied at Toledo, and was prior and later provincial of his order in Ireland. He was made coadjutor Bishop of Emly and consecrated in 1647.
During the siege of Limerick in 1651 he urged stubborn resistance and was excluded from quarter. Found after the surrender, he was condemned by court martial and executed at Limerick on 31 October 1651.
