Who they were
Gnanamma was a married laywoman of Andhra Pradesh who, widowed at 37, opened a boarding school for girls at Kilacheri in 1863 and founded the Congregation of the Sisters of St Anne, Madras. That site gives her birth year as 1819, where the Hagiography Circle record says about 1822.

The cause site, published under the archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore, says she was declared a Servant of God in 2014; the diocesan inquiry opened on 27 August 2014.
