Who they were
Theodard, of a noble family of Montauban, was made archdeacon of Narbonne and was known as 'eyes to the blind, feet to the lame, a father to the poor'.
Archbishop of Narbonne from 885, he repaired the damage of Saracen raids and gave up his revenues and his church's treasures to ransom Christian captives. He died at Montauban on 1 May 893.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
