Who they were
At Antalya in Pamphylia, in present-day Turkey, the holy martyrs Hesperus and Zoe, husband and wife, and their sons Cyriacus and Theodulus, who, as the story is told, under the emperor Hadrian, being the slaves of a pagan, were all first beaten and cruelly tortured by their own master's order for having openly professed the Christian faith; finally, thrown into a burning furnace, they gave up their souls to God.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 May as a son of Saints Hesperus and Zoe, tortured and thrown into a burning furnace at Antalya under the emperor Hadrian.
