Who they were
Commemoration of Saint Theophilus, bishop of Antioch, a man of the greatest learning, who held the pontificate of this Church sixth after the blessed Apostle Peter and wrote a work against Marcion to defend the true faith.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 13 October as the sixth bishop of Antioch after Saint Peter, who wrote against Marcion.
