Who they were
The passion of Saint Theophilus, called the Younger, martyr, who, at the head of a Christian fleet, was captured by the enemy near Cyprus and brought before Harun, supreme leader of the Saracens, and, bending neither to gifts nor to threats to deny Christ, was run through with the sword.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 January as the commander of a Christian fleet taken near Cyprus and put to the sword for refusing to deny Christ.
