Thomas Bullaker

Who they were

Thomas Bullaker, only son of a devout Catholic physician of Chichester, studied at St-Omer and Valladolid and became a Franciscan, ordained in 1628.

Imprisoned on landing at Plymouth, he then worked for nearly twelve years among the poor Catholics of London. Seized while celebrating Mass on 11 September 1642, he was executed at Tyburn on 12 October 1642.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle. The Catholic Encyclopedia records that his cause was introduced in Rome in 1900.
