The Roman Martyrology for 16 June records that at London in England, Blessed Thomas Reding, a martyr and a monk of the Charterhouse of the city, upheld the unity of the Church firmly under King Henry VIII and, kept in chains for this in a squalid prison, died worn out by hunger and sickness.
