At Tigava in Mauretania, in present-day Algeria, Saint Tipasius the veteran, martyr, who, recalled to the army, would not sacrifice to the gods and was beheaded.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 January as a veteran soldier beheaded at Tigava for refusing to sacrifice to the gods.
