Ulrich of Augsburg

Who they were

Ulrich, son of a count and related to the imperial family, was a sickly child who became an excellent scholar at St Gall. He was consecrated Bishop of Augsburg on 28 December 923.

He united severity with gentleness, worked to raise the moral life of his clergy through visitations and built many churches. He died at Augsburg on 4 July 973, and many miracles followed at his grave.
